Jon Turner is a photographer and videographer based in San Francisco. He is house photographer for Stern Grove Festival, Noise Pop, and Bloodroot Ramble, and a contract videographer for The San Francisco Standard.
His documentary work has taken him from guitar workshops in São Paulo to festival stages across the Bay Area. He holds a PhD in Ethnomusicology from UC Berkeley, where his research on instrument makers in Brazil and California produced a book-length study and an extensive photographic archive.
